Easter at the Gnome Reserve

Our first visit was nearly 10 years ago when, on a weekend holiday in nearby Somerset, our daughter Susan saw a tourist flyer listing the Gnome Reserve and insisted we had to see this. And we did. A labour of love and amusement by an elderly  woman, who greets you in her studio where she models and paints tiny souvenir gnomes, the reserve is a 4-acre woodland and wildflower garden dotted with all varieties of gnomes living their lives protected from those who admit they "hate gnomes."

Gnome hats are mandatory for visitors, and since overnight the weather had turned blustery and chilly they were welcome.

Gnomes of course like to fish . . .

. . . music and dancing are popular pastimes too.

Amusement parks are a fun day-out . . .

. . . and transport is quite sophisticated.

Gnomes can be helpful around the house too.
Every morning my little gnome greets me on the shelf above the computer along with my smiling grandchildren
